Bio:

John is currently Vice President, Biology at Goldfinch Bio, where he is responsible for driving an evolving portfolio by validating novel targets identified from patient genetic data and applying biomarkers to enable drug development efforts and deepen understanding of actionable disease biology. Previously he was Executive Director, Biology at Catabasis Pharmaceuticals, Inc., where he was responsible for driving translational strategy for a range of molecules with potential applications across multiple rare diseases. As Global Head, Applied Human Genetics & Genomics at Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research, he led a multi-disciplinary department driving advancements in genomic technologies and application to clinical trials across general medicine indications. At Merck Research Laboratories, he served as Director, Molecular Biomarkers where he led the anti-PD-1 biomarker efforts and was responsible for developing and qualifying biomarker assays in for use in lead-op and early-stage clinical trials across multiple programs.  John received his B.A. in Molecular and Cell Biology and his Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of California, has worked in the biopharmaceutical industry for over 18 years and contributed to more than 30 publications.
